The Dyer is a unique 3D artwork on a deep-sided canvas, featuring freestyle sculpting of hands with a palette knife. Tracey, the artist, used her own hands as the model for this creation. Working on her non-dominant hand for the left side proved fine, but things got a bit tricky when she tackled the right hand, considering she is right-handed. Nonetheless, she achieved remarkable results. The vibrant colors, splashed with inks, create the illusion of dyes running down the cloth and over the dyer’s hands, with the excess escaping the edges. This 3D artwork offers a unique twist on the traditional painting process and is ready to hang, with sculpting that extends around the canvas edges.
