With its mission to form a collective of creatives that will come together as one team to be supported, encouraged, valued, and respected within their craft; to engage and lead our community in the area of the arts, and beyond to the outside world, the Gloucester Creatives Cooperative finally opened the creative shop.
After a year of collaborative planning and preparation, creatives are now open for business. We had a soft opening on 30th March and a Grand Opening on 20th April. Both went exceptionally well.
I am aiming that this purpose-built venue, 'Art Precinct' (Gallery/ Functions and Events/ Cafe) will cater to the needs of all the creative arts, and serve our community. To become a desired destination for tourism through sales, festivals, workshops, and teaching programs, where artists and artisans can have the opportunities to share their work, skills, and knowledge with others, including the next generation. Create job opportunities within our town.
I have been overwhelmed by the support of the local community. And our new members. We went from 4 members at the beginning of March to over 80 members as of today. It’s very exciting how quickly everything is moving.
